My professional life has been devoted to the core values of education and overall health and well-being. I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience as a therapist including several years of excellent supervision under leading psychologists in San Diego. I incorporate both Humanistic and Positive Psychology, with a strength-based approach to work with the whole person. I have often found that working collaboratively with health care providers and other client support networks can bring the best results. Together we can explore how to use the mind, body, emotions, and environment to create greater balance, optimal health, and well-being. A holistic approach is my vision for wellness.

Many of my clients come to me to help them find their way through and over a bridge of some sort as they seek to manage changes in their lives. Some examples include common developmental milestones such as adjusting to; High School, considerations of college, moving, family changes, career considerations, health issues, illness, or managing the death of a loved one. Whether the circumstance is an expected event, or an uncommon, traumatic experience, feelings of anxiety and depression can often be experienced. Together we identify strengths, resources, areas that need attention, and tools to manage, including warmth, kindness, and a touch of humor.

Much of my previous work has involved developing programs including developing integrated behavioral health programs in medical clinics and school based clinics. I enjoyed working in various specialty mental health programs for clients of all ages; from school age children, young adults and have a special certification in working with older adults. Prior to my work as a therapist, I worked as a teacher, community outreach worker, counselor, and project manager for education and training programs.

I have had the pleasure of living and working in several different countries and speak Spanish fluently.  I respect and value diversity and have worked with people from many different backgrounds. Much of my professional life has included working with immigrant communities on cultural integration. I have enjoyed being an adjunct professor for community college as well as doctoral level students.
